Fulham striker Raul Jimenez says leading out co-hosts Mexico on the opening night of the 2026 World Cup will be an 'honour' and 'the greatest moment on his career'.
El Tri play South Africa in Monterrey on Thursday and are favourites to win Group A, which also contains Australia and Turkey.
Mexico failed to make it out of their group in Qatar four years ago but had previously made it to the last 16 in every edition of the World Cup since 1994, the last time the tournament was held in North America.
